With the 2022 Beach Wrestling World Champions crowned and three events into the qualifications for Bali 2023, we were curious to see which eight athletes per weight category would be representing their countries in one of the Games’ core sports of Beach Wrestling as of today.

See the standings in the qualification for the 2nd ANOC World Beach Games from August 5 to 12 here. 

Looking at the rankings, the 64 athletes would hail from 12 nations from three continents with Romania (10) representing the biggest delegation, followed by France with 7 wrestlers as well as Azerbaijan, Georgia and India with 6 wrestlers each.

The first two events of the 2023 Beach Wrestling World Series will count towards the qualification and so it’s still all up for grabs for the ambitious athletes with nations such as Belgium, the Netherlands, Norway, Moldavia, Portugal and Slovenia closest to the current top federations.

Please note: The files don’t show the ranking of the year but the ranking of the qualifiers for the ANOC World Beach Games 2023 after three (of an overall of five) tournaments.

See below for the qualification criteria:

• The first two 2023 Beach Wrestling World Series competitions will be taken into account to determine the qualified NOCs for Bali.
• The host country will get one quota per weight category ONLY if they compete in at least one qualifying event.
• One invitation place will be available per weight category ONLY for the NOCs that competed during at least one Qualifier.
